Q: How to test bakelite to determine if it's genuine?

A: Our bakelite expert says: Rub a spot on the bakelite with 409, awesome, or simichrome. If the fabric turns yellow then it is bakelite.

Q: Want to keep the value of your antique furniture?

A: Do not refinish! Clean it up and keep original patina and hardware if possible.

Q: Does Magnolia Antiques and Home Interiors consign items or furniture?

A: No we don't consign. We do buy from individuals. First make an appointment to show us your items or email pictures of what you have to sell. You should have a price in mind for the item or items. Remember we have to resell the items so the price should be reasonable.
